Meet Susie Lenny

Hi! I'm Susie, founder of Catching English and an award-winning English language coach with more than 15 years of experience helping adult learners build confidence and fluency.

My passion is simple: helping people stop guessing and start truly understanding English.

Throughout my career, I've taught students from a wide variety of cultures, backgrounds, and learning environments. One thing has remained constant—when students understand why English works, everything begins to click. They communicate more confidently, express their ideas more clearly, and enjoy using English in everyday life.

That's why I created Catching English.

My approach goes far beyond teaching grammar rules or following a textbook. Over the past fifteen years, I've developed a practical, engaging teaching style that combines proven instructional strategies, visual learning, technology, real-world communication, and plenty of guided practice. Every lesson is designed to help you build lasting skills—not just memorize information.

Whether you're preparing for a new career, improving your workplace communication, or simply wanting to feel more confident speaking English, my goal is to help you communicate with clarity, fluency, and purpose.

I hold a Colorado teaching license with endorsements in Linguistically Diverse Education and Instructional Technology. These experiences have shaped my belief that learning should be interactive, engaging, and accessible. By thoughtfully integrating technology into my teaching, I create lessons that make English easier to understand and more enjoyable to learn.

My motto, "Igniting English Fluency," isn't just a slogan—it's the heart of everything I do. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a student have that "I finally get it!" moment and watching their confidence grow.

When I'm not teaching, you'll usually find me on a tennis court. As a USTA Intermountain Ladies Doubles finalist, I've learned that success comes from practice, perseverance, and enjoying the journey. I bring that same mindset to every class because I believe learning English should be both challenging and fun.
